winning by cheating in hulu selangor by-election

by on Apr.25, 2010, under REALITY OF ACTIONS

Cheating or not BN has won. That is what that counts. BN knows that it can win by just throwing money (Buying votes). The village people are conned once again. The more well-informed still loses. Of course, the result may yet be different if the UMNO government had not openly committed political bribery through cash inducements on the villagers. UMNO had won this battle through foul means but the war is not lost on good Malaysians. PKR continues to journey the fight for truth and justice with dignity.

PR lost in Hulu Selangor basically due to massive votes buying, vote rigging, road blocks, intimidation, false promises, character assasination and shifting of the 13,000 electorate polling stations to a different far flung locations in the last minutes and other evil deeds. And as RPK mentioned in his latest posting, “PR went in with a pathetic and weak campaign machinery. It was badly coordinated…”

Pakatan Rakyat suffers it first loss in a state under its control. Out of the 10 by-elections since 2008 general elections, the score is Pakatan, 7, and BN, 3. BN won in the state seats of Batang Air (Sarawak), Bagan Pinang (Negeri Sembilan) and Hulu Selangor (Selangor).

To all my fellow Malaysians who decided to let themselves to be screwed by umno once again….you certainly have made your choice. A regime that is desperate, corrupted and ruthless, and not God fearing will do anything to stay in power,
compromising proper judgements with political play and hinders the democratic practice of having a separate
judiciary, legislative and executive functions. . In such a situation of oppressed governance, where there is
no check and balance in the separation of powers, the only solution is to CHANGE the whole system, starting with
winning every by-elections till GE13.

Let see if you are going to be happy in the near future as you thought you would be today.

Total voters : 64,500 turnout : 48,935 (75.87%)

Majority -1,725 ( 2.67%)
Spoilt votes – 731 ( 1.13%)

Racial breakdown: totalling 64,500
Malays : 32,020 (49.64%)
Chinese : 16,964 (26.30%)

Anwar Ibrahim & the nation needs your support!

Petaling Jaya Selangor, 47401

” Malaysia was hit by the global recession and 2009 was a difficult year for many of us. More jobs were lost and more people were left unemployed than at any time in our nation’s history.

There are some indications that the economic situation is improving in 2010 but I released a statement today urging people not to be misled by a few statistics. To say that the “the worst is over” is not only premature but irresponsible.

For 10 years the government has spent more money than it has made. In fact increasing government expenditure has been the defining element of Malaysia’s economic policy during this period. The natural outcome of its approach is to register some small amount of growth. But our continued reliance on an outdated strategy is taking us down the road of economic serfdom. And the government’s failure to adopt creative economic policies to make us competitive in a global economy has left Malaysia lagging behind our neighbors in the region.

It is also true that corruption remains rampant and massive government projects are often unnecessary, cost too much, and benefit only a few people. We cannot afford to keep losing billions every year.

The private sector has not benefited from the increase in spending. Small and medium sized businesses were more vibrant and active 20 years ago than they are today. This means that the economic policies of the BN are still not creating enough jobs and opportunities for the vast majority of Malaysians”.

…………….

The second political tsunami since March 2008 begins with a win in Hulu Selangor for Pakatan Rakyat.
